Hey Guys,
So I’m now one week into being on the mat and everything feels pretty good. The shoulder feels tight at certain bits of training so I need to take things slow and make sure that it is warmed up correctly and I listen to it while training.
Have managed to do a few rounds of light rolling but I’m taking it really slowly as one wrong move can but me back to square one. (more…)

Hey all,
So I went back to the Doc last week and got cleared to start training again. While this more amazing than I can say it came with a few conditions;
• No rolling or sparring for another 3 weeks.
• No heavy weights for 2 months.
• No competing at all with the plate in as it can crack (back to square one).
So what does this mean? Well it means I can start back with weights as don’t go crazy and build towards training, which is amazing. Also the bone has completely healed which is something that the doc never saw coming at all. He now says that in about a years time the plate can be removed as the bone should be 100%. He said there was less than a 10% chance of this happening (nutrition works people). (more…)

Hey Guys and Gals,
Just thought I would post a quick update on where I’m at and whats going on.
Things are pretty much the same as they were before really. I still have to wait to be cleared by the doc on the second of August. Till then I’m stuck wit running and mobility work. On the plus side my endurance is improving and so is my flexibility. My weight is holding pretty steady and at this point I have no desire to lose any more at this point. Namely because I know a positive body composition change will occur when I start training again. Couple of quick thoughts to finish up. (more…)

Hey Guys,
Really quick update as there isn’t much to report.
Been back to the Docs and everything is well past where it’s supposed to be. No sling, no physio, no pain of any sort. However the Doc still won’t let me back training for 6 weeks. I’m sensing that this is just a standard response but then again, I’m not a Doctor so I’ll go with what the dude in the white coat says. (more…)

Hey Guys,
Ok so I’ve had the X rays and a few exams since I last posted. Thankfully it’s all great news. The sling is off and there is a very strong chance that I won’t need physio on it at all! I put this down to trying to keep as much muscle as possible (though not all) and having my diet really high in nutrients that will help the re growth of connective tissues.
So at the moment I’m focusing on increasing my shoulder mobility and starting a small amount of cardio. This will be nothing major, I’m talking 3 low intensity sessions plus stretching and mobility every day plus foam rolling. I don’t want to rush anything as it is still possible the plate can break or crack leading to it having to be replaced. (more…)

Hey guys,
I realise it’s been a bit since I checked in so I though I would whack up a quick update on where things are at. Nothing much has happened really apart from just waiting and healing. Got an appointment with the specalist Tomorrow to see how things are healing and to find out if I can get this damn sling off and start physio. So whole I’m waiting for that I thought I would whack up some random thoughts about shizzle. (more…)

Hey Guys,
So I was at the hospital for a check up yesterday to see if my super human experiment was working!
Firstly the good news is that both the wounds have completely healed (no scabs, nothing) and my range of movement is far beyond what it should be at this moment. Strength as far as grip goes is excellent as well. (more…)

Hey all,
So here we are, a week after surgery and whats happening?
Healing is coming along steadily, I can now walk with minor pain while a few days ago I could barely shuffle and mobility is returning to the shoulder.
Not making many changes at the moment (if it’s not broke, don’t fix it) but I am making a few small ones. (more…)

Hey everyone,
So here I am a couple of days after the opp. Everything went well and I feel like I’m slowly on the mend. For the last two days all I’ve done is sleep which is good thing as it means my body is putting itself back together.
Over the next week I plan to rest as much as possible and take in the right amount of nutrients that will help my body keep muscle and help grow the connecting tissue that it needs. (more…)

Hey guys,
So I’m a couple of days out from the op so I thought that I would share a couple of random thoughts that are rattling around my brain.
-I am now looking at everything ‘one handed’. What I can and can’t do, plus how to adapt things so I can keep doing them (ever tried to put contact lenses in with one hand?..)
-I need TV shows to watch and books to read/steal. Please give me some suggestions. (more…)
