Biography
Forrest Griffin was the winner of the UFC's first Ultimate Fighter series, defeating Stephan Bonnar in the final in a fight that is widely believed to have helped bring MMA into the mainstream.
His fan friendly and charismatic persona earned him legions of fans and, win or lose, they expect the Ohio born fighter to put on a good show.
Griffin rallied well to win the light-heavyweight title in his UFC 86 clash with Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson. Utilising leg kicks to his advantage, he eliminated the threat of Jackson's heavy punches despite an early scare when he was dropped by an uppercut.
He lost the title in his first defense when he was TKOed by Rashad Evans.
Training out of Xtreme Couture, Griffin also features at the Warrior Training Center in Las Vegas.
