Biography
Miguel Torres is a fighter based out of Indiana, competing as a bantamweight in the WEC.
Torres runs his own school and has a black belt in BJJ under Carlson Gracie Jr. Gracie who took him under his wing when they first met, taking him to Brazil and offering an open challenge to all comers at 135lbs, stating that he couldn't be beaten at that weight.
After offers in Japan and elsewhere, Torres was offered a contract with the WEC and fought Chase Beebe for the title in just his second bout there. He won the title with an Anaconda Choke and went on to defend the belt three times against Yoshiro Maeda, Manny Tapia and Takeya Mizugaki.
He was knocked out by Brian Bowles in his last defence but hopes to reclaim the title with a rejuvenated training plan, including travelling to Sityodtong to train with Mark Dellagrotte.
