Biography

Clay Guida is an American fighter based out of Illinois' Midwest Fight Team, also training in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Jackson's Submission Fighting.

Guida's career didn't start as bright as some othersm going 3-3 in regional promotions, but then he went on a tear - winning fifteen consecutive bouts.

Guida featured in Strikeforce where he defeated Josh Thomson to take the lightweight title, losing it to Gilbert Melendez in his first defense.

After featuring in Shooto and the WEC, he then entered the UFC where he as become known as a relentless and aggressive competitor, earning fight of the night honours on numerous occasions. His biggest wins have been over Nate Diaz, Mac Danzig and Marcus Aurelio although he has engaged in great battles with Roger Huerta, Diego Sanchez and Tyson Griffin.
