Sean Sherk is a one-time UFC lightweight champion, defeating Kenny Florian for the vacant belt. He defended his title once against Hermes Franca before being stripped after testing positive for steroids.

His losses have only come to elite level fighters like Georges St. Pierre, Matt Hughes and BJ Penn.

He fought for Pride FC in 2004 but returned to the UFC after that.

He trains in his home state at Minnesota Martial Arts Academy with Greg Nelson along with the likes of Brock Lesnar and Brock Larson.
