Biography
Training out of American Kickboxing Academy with the likes of fellow welterweights Josh Koscheck and Mike Swick, Jon Fitch earned himself a title shot at UFC 87 after equalling the record (at the time) of eight consecutive wins in the Octagon. His streak was snapped when he dropped a one-sided decision to champion Georges St Pierre but increased his stock in a durable performance.
The Indiana-born fighter was a Division I wrestler at Purdue University where he first became interested in MMA.
He moved to AKA to start his cross-training and has since become a black belt in coach Dave Camarillo's 'Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu' system.
