Stormin' Norman Parke.

Parke Heads To Finland To Take On Kuivanen

Northern Ireland's Norman Parke will face Anton Kuivanen in a lightweight matchup at Finland's Fight Festival 29.

Fight Festival have established themselves as one of Europe's premier mixed martial arts events, with consistently high-level cards and many of Europe's elite fighters.

This isn't set to change for their twenty-ninth outing, where Marcus Vanttinen (18-2) takes on Maro Perak (19-2-1) and Mikko Rupponen (18-5-2) will fight UFC and Strikeforce veteran Sean Salmon (18-13).

Another fine addition to the card will be local favourite Anton Kuivanen's (13-4) Fight Festival return against Northern Ireland's "Stormin'" Norman Parke (14-2).

Kuivanen trains in his homeland of Finland, as well as at American Top Team - one of the world's finest gyms producing top level fighters in the UFC, Strikeforce and Dream. His 2010 consisted of two wins in Cage, over Raymond Jarman and Tim Radcliffe. His only loss in his last ten outings comes to WEC veteran Bendy Casimir, and he is currently riding a six-fight win streak.

Parke has only suffered two losses in his career; one of them coming in his first professional outing to Bellator FC veteran Greg Loughran and the other to Joe Duffy, who featured briefly on the last season of The Ultimate Fighter. The active 155lbs fighter (who has 13 fights in the past two years) holds notable victories over Ali Maclean, Ian Jones and Tommy Maguire. This fight is his first step into the wider breadths of Europe, and represents a good step up in competition for the burgeoning Bushmills man.

The event on January 31st, 2011 takes place at Helsinki Sports Centre in Helsinki, Finland. Visit www.fightfestival.com for more details.
