British UFC heavyweights Phil De Fries and Oli Thompson will finally meet after originally being scheduled as opponents back at UFC 138 in November of 2011.

Thompson was forced to withdraw from the contest in Birmingham, and De Fries (8-1) went on to win in his Octagon debut against Rob Broughton who stepped up at late notice. The North East BJJ specialist subsequently faced Stipe Miocic earlier this year and lost his zero as he was knocked out in the first rounds.

Thompson (9-3) made his debut in Australia earlier this year at UFC On FX: Alves vs. Kampmann and was stopped by tough American Shawn Jordan in the second round of an exciting battle.

Now the UK big men are set to go at it again at UFC On Fox 4 which looks likely to take place in Los Angeles, California on August 4th.

Oli told Your MMA Radio that it was a fight he wanted, and now he has his wish. He was originally offered Christian Morecraft, but the American wasn't able to fight due to injury..

Also just announced on the bill is Matt Mitrione against the aforementioned North West man Rob Broughton, which will be a tough fight for the Brit who will likely need a win to keep his contract.

Mitrione (5-1) lost for the first time in his professional career against Cheick Kongo via decision last time out, and won't want to suffer back-to-back defeats. After stringing five UFC wins together with four knockouts, he was heading towards the upper echelons of the division, but the loss has set him back.

Broughton (15-7-1) has had back-to-back decision losses, and needs a win to revive his UFC career.

Sources at the UFC said all bouts are verbally agreed, with contracts expected to be signed shortly.
