Graham Turner vs. Adam Stevenson Set For Vacant Vision FC Belt

June-27-12
Graham Turner makes his fighting return to Scottish soil to face Adam Stevenson for the Vision Lightweight Title.

News

We can exclusively reveal that Graham Turner will face Adam Stevenson for the vacant Vision Lightweight Title on September 1.

Stevenson earned number one contender status by defeating Alan McCauley at Vision 3: Uprising on April 28th. He has also never been defeated on a Vision/SFC event.

"Adam has got himself into the position of fighting for the title by continually beating guys who he has been the underdog against," said Vision matchmaker Rob McCrum. He continued: "So this won't be any different for him. We feel the Vision titles are pretty meaningful so if you want one your going to have to beat some of the best guys in Europe to get your hands on it."

Turner is a highly ranked European featherweight with wins in ten of his last twelve fights. He is stepping up from his usual weight for this fight, but that should not be much of a hindrance, as he has previously defeated second ranked Scottish lightweight Bobby McVitie, and third ranked Scottish lightweight David Galbraith, who bested Stevenson at On Top 5 on June 2.

McCrum said: "We settled on Graham for the title shot, as he won the first lightweight tournament when the promotion was SFC, beating good guys like Carlos Prada and Arvyadis Zillius. He also beat Miah Utrosa on the promotion.

"Graham is one of the best lightweight/featherweights in Europe and will get to the very top. It's great having someone of his calibre fighting on his home soil. We felt he's more than deserving of a title shot."
