Broughton vs. Mitrione Moved To UFC On FX 5

Following the news last week that the bout was taken off the UFC On Fox 4 card, it has been rescheduled for October.

It was cited last week that "personal issues" were to sideline Rob Broughton from his clash with Matt Mitrione, originally scheduled for this weekend's UFC On Fox 4 card. The fight has been rescheduled for UFC On FX 5, which will take place on Friday 5th October in Minneapolis.

Broughton was successful in his Octagon debut, but after a two-fight skid he now needs a victory to stay on the UFC roster. "The Bear" submitted Vinicius Queiroz in London, but back-to-back decision losses to Phil De Fries and Travis Browne mean his back is really against the wall.

Mitrione suffered the first loss of his professional career to Cheick Kongo at UFC 137, and is eager to get back to winning ways. It will have been almost a year out of action for 'Meathead' by the time this bout comes around. He rocketed up the rankings with five straight wins, four coming via knockout, but the step up in class against Kongo was too much at that point as he dropped a somewhat lacklustre decision.

Mitrione revealed that he knew long before it was announced that the fight with Broughton was off the card, and thus he wasn't prepared to take a late notice fight against Travis Browne on the same night.

UFC On FX 5 was originally scheduled for Mitrione's hometown of Indianapolis in September, but it was pushed back and moved to Minnesota.
