(Press Release - Aug 16th.12) Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce Matt Ewin and Carl Noon to the BAMMA 10 card for a Middleweight bout at London Wembley on 15th September. The event is to be live televised on 5*, with the highlights to be broadcast on Channel 5. Internationally, BAMMA 10 will be broadcast live on HDNet (AXS TV) in the US, The Fight Network in Canada, Esporta in Brazil, Red Media in Russia, Setanta in Africa and TDN in Latin America.

UK legend Matt Ewin champions a 22-12 record extending back to 2002 during which time he has held Middleweight titles at both Cage Warriors and Cage Rage; and can boast a string of tough fights against names that include Alex Reid, Ivan Salaverry, Martin Kampmann and Travis Lutter.

BAMMA 9 saw Ewin upset by Leeroy Barnes, after stepping in as a late replacement, and Ewin will be looking to return to form with this bout. Having earned a reputation for finishing fights and finishing them fast, Ewin now comes with a depth of experience. Fans can expect a high calibre and multi-dimensional performance from the British veteran as he looks to pave his way to a title shot.

Matt Ewin said:

“I’m glad to have the opportunity to fight at BAMMA again, especially after the last time. It's going to be a hard fight for but ultimately I've got a better ground game and wrestling than Carl, so I'll take control if he tries to take it to the ground. My stand up is better than what I've seen of Carl's unless he catches me with one of his big left hooks.

"Carl is very strong, but he relies on it too much and tries to bully people. He won't be able to do that with me; I’ll use his strength. He always goes 100% which is great, but this is not a good fight for him. He has the strength but not the skill. It's great to be back on BAMMA, one of the biggest shows to be on. I'll be going out to make my mark again and to get in contention for a shot at whoever’s got the belt.”

Liverpool’s Carl Noon (7-2-0-) was on a 7 fight winning streak until he came unstuck against BAMMA-Lonsdale British champ, Jack Marshman, at BAMMA 7. Although Noon dominated the fight across two rounds but couldn’t put away Marshman, who flipped around fortune in the 3rd to earn the title. Fans’ respect for the Marshman’s toughness overshadowed Noon’s dominant performance; but Noon demonstrated he had the arsenal of a champ. With a majority of first round finishes and a string of TKO and submission wins, Noon poses a dangerous challenge for the most experienced of fighters.

Noon said:

“The BAMMA 10 card is packed full of excellent fights and mine will be no different. Matt Ewin is a very good veteran and exactly the type of challenge I need for my return. I respect Ewin but come September 15th I will do my job and get the win."

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“It’s an honour to have someone with Ewin’s history on the show. Not only does he bring extensive skills and experience, but he also brings the old school spirit into the cage since he’s been around from the early, grassroots days of MMA in the UK. He’s coming off a three fight losing streak so he’ll be working hard to prove himself again, especially since he’s hungry for a title shot.

"Noon faces a major step up in class but is equally dangerous to Ewin. It’s going to be a tough fight for both guys and I expect full on, in-your-face, neck-to-neck action. This has all the makings of an unforgettable, stand-out fight.”
