Conor McGregor was already seen as a potential UFC signee even before his huge knockout win over Ivan Buchinger on New Year's Eve, but the world was really opened up to 'The Notorious' as he became a two-weight world champion under the Cage Warriors banner,

With acclaim coming from all sides, the UFC's attention was obviously zoned in on Irishman McGregor, and mmanytt.se have now revealed he is set to debut for the promotion at their Stockholm event in April.

SBG Ireland's McGregor (12-2) will take on Marcus Brimage in a featherweight clash at UFC Stockholm 2013.

His signing sees him return to 145lbs, where he won the Cage Warriors title by defeating Dave Hill in June. He moved up to lightweight to take on Ivan Buchinger for the title when Jim Alers was forced to withdraw from their scheduled matchup.

He currently rides an eight-fight win streak into the cage, and has eleven knockouts and one submission amongst his victories. He went 3-0 in 2012, and has been training with Icelandic prodigy Gunnar Nelson.

The talk in UK MMA circles will all be about McGregor, but he faces a tough competitor in Brimage.

A TUF alumni, Brimage has a record of 6-1, with three wins in the UFC. All of these came via decision. He went 1-1 on TUF and was given the chance to fight in the Octagon. He has since made the most of that opportunity.

It's an exciting addition to the bill. Stay tuned to www.facebook.com/yourmma for more updates.
