Made 4 The Cage co-promoter Steve Scott talks to Tom "Kong" Watson about the his future at BAMMA, potentially taking on Jimmy Wallhead, speaking with the UFC and Strikeforce, and much more.
Interview Highlights:
“I’ll hopefully get a fight around August or September time.”
“I had a lot of injuries over the last couple of years, a lot of surgeries and it made me think ‘do I want to keep doing this?’ ‘Do I want to put my body through this stuff?’ But I realised in the last fight, to get back in there and fight again, that’s obviously what I want to do.”
“I spoke to Sean Shelby, Strikeforce matchmaker, and I’ve spoken to the UFC before. If they don’t want me to fight, I can’t make them sign me so I’ll just try and fight the best guys that are on the table for the best money.”
On Jimmy Wallhead:
“In my opinion he’s a great fighter. He’s not as well known in England as he should be. It would be an honour to fight him, but this whole I don’t want to fight him and I ducked him stuff, it’s not even worth me going on about to be honest.”
“I thought I got on pretty well with him but maybe now, the way things have come out, I don’t necessarily like when people talk like that. Do what you got to do but that’s not really my thing.”
“Understandably it’s a fight that the fans want to see. It would be a good fight and maybe they will see it, who knows.”
