Information
Icelandic grappling prodigy Gunnar Nelson has long been touted as a future UFC star. With fantastic grappling accomplishments, a BJJ black belt under Renzo Gracie and a perfect MMA record (in which all of his fights have been finished), it's easy to see why.
With a record of 9-0-1 and nine straight victories, Nelson has beaten top UK and European fighters such as Eugene Fadiora, Danny Mitchell and most recently Alexander Butenko.
The news came through yesterday that the UFC had put an offer on the table for Nelson, and he subsequently accepted.
It looks likely that he'll feature on the UFC On Fuel 5 card in Nottingham, although no opponent has been confirmed as yet.
Filmmaker Stu Cooper took the time to film Gunnar at the SBG Mainline gym in Manchester, and he gives his thoughts on why he has adapted so well to the grappling game, and how he thinks a calm mindset is the key to success.
