Information
Both fighters were undefeated coming into the Fight UK featherweight title fight, with champion Martin Sheridan (4-1) looking to make the first successful defence of his crown against Colosseum's Saul Rogers (4-0).
In a gritty performance to take the belt, Sheridan submitted Dean Trueman in November of last year and the fight was hailed as a great one.
It wasn't to be the same this time though, as the challenger came and dominated from the off. Following some training at Tri-Star and a hard-fought win over Artem Lobov at the rear end of 2011, Rogers was ready to add some pro silverware to his trophy cabinet.
Hitting an early takedown, Sheridan never had an answer for the ground game of his foe, and ultimately succumbed to a choke in the first round.
Rogers now moves to 4-0 and looks like a top prospect.
