Martin Stapleton (9-1) and Jason Cooledge (5-3) topped the bill at OMMAC 14 in this lightweight contest.
Stapleton was back in action quickly following a win over Shah Hussain at FCC 3, and a great crowd followed him to the Liverpool Olympia in support.
Stapleton was the favourite, and admitted he may have slightly underestimated his man when he talked to Your MMA post-fight:
"He was a lot harder than I thought," revealed the 29-year-old. "I felt like I dominated him technically as there was no point in the fight where I felt like I wasn't in control.
"However, I hit Jason with some right hands that would have knocked a donkey out. It turns out I broke my knuckle and foot on his head and he kept coming forward smiling. He is one tough guy. I have got a lot of respect for him after that fight."
With the win, 'Stapes' heads into the Cage Contender 'Fight Stars' lightweight tournament to be held at the end of the year.
